SECURITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE CONCERNING AFGHANISTAN CONSIDERS LIST OF ORGANIZATIONS PROVIDING HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE

In accordance with paragraph 12 of Security Council resolution 1333 (2000), the Committee is actively working on a list of organizations and governmental relief agencies providing humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan that shall be exempt from the prohibitions imposed by paragraph 11 of Security Council resolution 1333 (2000) and paragraph 4(a) of Security Council resolution 1267 (1999).

The new measures imposed by Security Council resolution 1333 (2000) shall come into force on 19 January 2001. Until that date, paragraph 4(a) of Security Council resolution 1267 (1999), which provides for exemptions on the grounds of humanitarian need thereof, shall remain in effect.
