SECURITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE CONCERNING AFGHANISTAN ADDS FINANCIAL ENTITY TO EARLIER LIST

A note verbale was addressed to Member States on 12 April by the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1267 (1999) concerning Afghanistan.

The note designated funds and financial resources of the Taliban and approved a list of entities and/or persons so far identified by the Committee, based on information provided by Member States, as falling under one of the categories mentioned in that note, as well as in press release SC/6844.

The following entity has been added to the list:

* De Afghanistan Momtaz Bank

The list will continue to be revised as necessary. The Committee encourages Member States to bring to its attention any information they may have concerning funds, financial resources, as well as entities and/or persons.

[Member States are required to freeze funds and other financial resources as designated by the Committee.]
