SECURITY COUNCIL 1737 COMMITTEE REVISES ITS GUIDELINES

On 24 April, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1737 (2006) revised its guidelines for the conduct of its work, in order to incorporate the relevant provisions of resolution 1803 (2008).

The guidelines, originally adopted on 30 May 2007, outline, inter alia, procedures regarding the receipt and handling of implementation reports, other relevant information from Member States, proposals for additions to and deletions from the lists of items, individuals or entities, and notifications or requests for exemptions.

The revised guidelines will be transmitted to all States for their information and use, as necessary, and will be posted on the Committee’s webpage:  www.un.org/sc/committees/1737/index.shtml.
