SECURITY COUNCIL 1521 COMMITTEE CONCERNING LIBERIA ADOPTS GUIDELINES

On 12 June 2007, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1521 (2003) concerning Liberia adopted guidelines for the conduct of its work.

The guidelines outline, inter alia, procedures for seeking the delisting of individuals and entities from the travel ban and assets freeze lists maintained by the Committee, and they also contain information regarding exemptions to the travel ban first imposed by resolution 1521 (2003) and to the assets freeze imposed by resolution 1532 (2004) which are applicable in certain specific cases.

The guidelines will be transmitted to all States for their information and use, as necessary, and will be posted on the Committee’s webpage:  http://www.un.org/sc/committees/1521/pressreleases.shtml.
