SECRETARY-GENERAL AWAITS FURTHER DETAILS ON UNITED STATES MILITARY ACTIONS IN RESPONSE TO TERRORIST ATTACKS

Following is the text of a statement attributable to the Spokesman for Secretary-General Kofi Annan:

The Secretary-General, sharing the views of both the Security Council and the General Assembly, condemns terrorism in all its forms.

He was informed by the United States Government of its military actions, minutes after they took place, against targets in Afghanistan and the Sudan in response to the terrorist attacks in Nairobi and Dar-es-Salaam.

He is concerned over these developments and awaits further details.
