Ms. Keita has had a long and distinguished career with the United Nations, spanning over 17 years in various emergency, post-conflict and development settings. Most recently, she was the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Representative in Burundi. Immediately prior to that assignment, in January 2007, she served as interim United Nations Resident Coordinator and Designated Official in Kigali, Rwanda.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Keita worked as the Programme Coordinator for UNICEF in Congo and held the same position in Madagascar. Before working for UNICEF, she also worked with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and held a number of other United Nations posts in Chad, Cape Verde and Guinea.

Ms. Keita graduated with a master’s degree in social economy in 1985 and a post-master’s degree in business administration and management in 1986. She is the mother of three children.
