With More Than 150 Heads of State, Government Expected, Millennium Summit Will Be Largest-Ever Gathering of World Leaders
NEW YORK, 1 September – The United Nations Millennium Summit, which takes place from 6 to 8 September at United Nations Headquarters in New York, will be webcast live on the United Nations Web site. The Summit, which will bring together more than 150 heads of State or Government to tackle global challenges, is expected to be the largest-ever gathering of world leaders.
With plenary sessions scheduled to take place daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., the webcast, using state of-the-art technology, will contribute to make the Summit a truly twenty-first century event, accessible from any part of the world having a connection to the Internet. This coverage is made possible by the Department of Public Information, in cooperation with MediaOnDemand.com, a service provider specializing in offering integrated Internet broadcast solutions.
