RESURFACING FOR A47 NEAR TIXOVER, LEICESTERSHIRE
Essential resurfacing work on the A47 near Tixover in Leicestershire is set to start on Monday, 29 April and due to finish on Thursday, 2 May.
Work, which also involves adding new road-markings on the 350-metre stretch of carriageway, will take place each day between 9am and 4pm.
Temporary traffic signals and a 40mph speed restriction will be in place on the A47 from 350 metres east of Coppice Leys Wood to 500 metres west of Tixover crossroads. There will also be a convoy vehicle to enforce a 10mph temporary speed limit and no overtaking restriction on this section.
Highways Agency Project Manager Graham Littlechild said:
"This essential resurfacing work will lead to improved driving conditions, including better surfacing and clearer road-markings, for road users on this part of the A47.
"We have tried to minimise the disruption and inconvenience to homeowners in Tixover and work will not take place over the weekend. However, we do expect some delays so drivers should allow more time for their journeys."
