REMINDER - A12 RESURFACING WORKS AT HATFIELD PEVEREL RESUME ON 7 JANUARY
Work on the major maintenance and safety scheme on the A12 at Hatfield Peverel will resume at noon on 7 January, after being suspended over the Christmas and New Year period.
Highways Agency Project Manager Jamie Hassall said:
"Work on this major maintenance and safety improvement scheme will restart on 7 January, and new traffic management will be put in place from noon. The works are on schedule for completion by the end of February."
From the 7 January, the following traffic management will be in place: Monday to Saturday * From 6.00 am to 10.00 am two lanes will be maintained in each direction, with one lane London-bound in contraflow on the Ipswich-bound carriageway. * After 10.00 am, there will be one London-bound lane only, which will be in contraflow on the Ipswich-bound carriageway. This means all three lanes are on the Ipswich-bound carriageway (two towards Ipswich, one towards London). * From 9.00 pm there will be one lane open in each direction until 6.00 am the next morning. Sunday On Sundays, there will be two lanes open in each direction from 4.00 pm until 6.00 am on Monday morning.
A 40mph speed limit will also be re-introduced through the works.
Drivers are recommended to allow extra time for their journeys from 7 January or use alternative routes where possible and to consider making use of public transport. The Highways Agency reminds drivers that accidents, particularly nose-to-tail collisions, are more likely where there are roadworks.
Information about roadworks throughout the region is available from the Highways Agency Information Line on 08457 50 40 30 or from the website: http://www.highways.gov.uk.
