To improve traffic flows and road safety before and during the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford later this month there will be temporary restrictions on vehicles turning onto and off the A419, the Highways Agency has announced.
The turning restrictions are designed to keep traffic running smoothly by reducing the number of interruptions to traffic flow. The measures, which will mainly affect local traffic, will be in place from Saturday July 16 and remain until Monday July 18:
Highways Agency route manager Steve Self said:
"The Fairford International Air Tattoo takes place on 16 and 17 July this year, and traffic on the A419 and surrounding roads will be extremely busy during this time. Road users are asked to allow extra time for their journey.
"By preventing traffic from making these turns, the Highways Agency aims to keep traffic flowing, benefiting the majority of users of this route. All the temporary restrictions and diversions will be clearly signed."
* No right turns from the A419 onto the minor road (C114) towards Castle Eaton - traffic will continue on the A419 to the Spine Road Junction and join the southeast bound A419 and take left turn to Castle Eaton
* No right turns from the C114 onto A419 - traffic wishing to turn right onto the A419 will be diverted to turn left and travel southeast on the A419 to Turnpike Roundabout where traffic would turn to join the northwest bound A419
* No right turns for south east bound traffic on A419 into Kingshill Farm - vehicles will continue on the A419 to Turnpike Roundabout and turn to join the northwest bound A419 and turn left into Kingshill Farm
* No right turns onto A419 from Kingshill Farm - Traffic wishing to turn right onto the A419, will be diverted to turn left and travel northwest on the A419 to the Spine Road Junction where traffic would turn to join the southeast bound A419.
