PLANS FOR NEW FOOTBRIDGE OVER THE A52 AT BOTTESFORD, LEICESTERSHIRE
Plans for a new footbridge over the A52 at Bottesford, Leicestershire will be published tomorrow (November 8) by the Highways Agency.
The proposed bridge will be located east of Barkestone Lane and will provide safe access over the A52 for pedestrians, cyclists, the disabled and equestrians.
Highways Agency Project Manager Norman Johnson said:
"The Highways Agency is committed to looking into ways of tackling the severence of communities and reducing the risks of accidents on England''s trunk road network.
"There are a number of groups needing access across the A52 and the safest option would be to provide a new bridge over the road thereby reducing the risk of an accident. In addition the new bridge will form part of the SUSTRANS National Cycle Network and will provide a safe route across the busy A52 Bottesford Bypass for students attending Belvoir High School and Community College."
