COASTGUARDS NAMED IN QUEENS NEW YEARS HONOURS LIST

Saturday 10:54

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency would like to congratulate auxiliary Coastguards, Ronnie Robinson and John Bradbury who have been named in the Queen's New Year's Honours List.

Ronnie Robinson and John Bradbury were nominated by the MCA since both have given over thirty years of service to the Coastguard. Their nominations were for their contribution towards Maritime Safety.

John is the station officer for Knott End Coastguard Rescue Team. He is a teacher who has used his links with education to communicate sea safety messages to children and families. He has also been instrumental in the Morecambe Bay partnership which promotes safety within the bay as well as tourism.

Ron is the deputy station officer at Hoylake Coastguard Rescue Team. He also volunteers for the British Red Cross and drives for disabled people.

Davy Thompson, Area Operations Manager says:

"I am very pleased for and proud of both John and Ron whose contribution to the service over the years has been immense."
