An angler has been taken to hospital after being recovered from the sea at Eyemouth.
Forth Coastguard received a call from ambulance control reporting that the man had been fishing with his brother from rocks 25 metres off shore when he fell into the water. The Eyemouth Coastguard Rescue Team were dispatched and St Abbs and Eyemouth RNLI lifeboats were requested to launch.
The man was recovered from the water by Eyemouth lifeboat and then taken to Melrose Hospital by rescue helicopter.
Simon Smart, Forth Coastguard Watch Manager says:
"We received the call from Ambulance Control at 12.17 pm and the lifeboats arrived on scene within minutes to retrieve the man from the water. Conditions for this incident were reasonable with a calm sea and force 2-3 winds."
