Public Exhibition in Stratton St Margaret
There will be a public exhibition next week to show plans for a proposed new noise barrier to be installed beside the A419 at Lower Stratton near Swindon.
Dates: Wednesday 28 & Thursday 29 June 2006
Times: 11am - 4pm (28th June) & 12pm-8pm (29th June)
Location: The Willow Suite, Corus Hotel, Swindon, Oxford Road, Stratton St Margaret, Swindon, SN3 4TL.
The Lower Stratton area has been identified as being exposed to high levels of traffic noise.
The proposed timber noise fence is intended to reduce traffic noise from the A419 trunk road and is likely to be 475m long and between 2.5m and 3.5 in height.
The fence is intended to protect the area between Gifford Road and Godwin Road and produce an average noise reduction of five decibels (5dB(A)) over the area. The scheme is dependant on successful completion of statutory stages such as planning approval.
