10:00-10:15 Meeting with Christos SIRROS, head of the General delegation of Québec in Brussels. The Canadian state wants to strengthen links with the Committee of the Regions and European counterparts with legislative power such as Bavaria, Catalonia, Wallonia and Scotland. Venue: Bedford Hotel.

The delegation comprises André VEZINHET, President of the Latin Arc and President of the Conseil Général of L’Hérault (France), Jean BOMBIN, Conseil Général of Var (France), Celestino CORBACHO, President of the Diputació (provincial council) of Barcelona (Spain), and Roberto DERIU, President of the province of Nuoro (Italy). 16:00-16:30 First official meeting with European Commission President José Manuel BARROSO. Themes are likely to include the OPEN DAYS European Week of Regions and Cities, implementation of the updated cooperation agreement with the Commission and the CoR’s new Lisbon Network, aimed at giving regions and cities more say over the jobs and growth strategy.
