COMMISSION APPROVES AID TO FIRMS AFFECTED BY FLOODING IN LIGURIA ANDTUSCANY: STATE AID - REGION OF LIGURIA - NATURAL DISASTERS - ITALY

THE COMMISSION AUTHORIZES AIDTO THE BELGIAN COAL INDUSTRY
The Commission today granted aid to the Belgian coal industry for 1993
under Decision No 2064/86/ECSC.
The aid amounts to Bfr 228 100 000 and consists of:
- Bfr 14 100 000 to cover expenditure on additional leave arrangements
for underground workers;
- Bfr 214 000 000 to cover welfare benefits in the coal industry.
